Leaving for Esbjerg today. Decided to take the ferry to Als, drive west to Tønder and along the west coast to Esbjerg. Headed down 43 to Bøjden for the ferry to Als. Had already paid for the ferry. Opted for the ferry at 12, but we did not have any breaks, so we just made it to the 11 ferry.
Sønderborg
Walked from the parking to Sønderborg castle where the KDM Dannebrog was docked. It is Her Danish Majesty’s Yacht. Having a lunch at Restaurant Colosseum at the harbour, before heading west.
Møgeltønder
Walked by the Schackenborg Castle, where Prince Joachim and his second wife Princess Marie lives. Beautiful surroundings, park and castle.
Esbjerg
Quite cold day along the west coast. Around 16C and wind. We arrived in Esbjerg without any hotel bookings. Decided to head for an area with several hotels. Luckily there were room for us at the first hotel we tried. Relaxed a bit in the bar, before having a dinner at the India Royale.
